305lb fat boy wanting to get into saddle hunting. but I feel like it's a skinny man sport kind of like paddle boarding lol. everything is built with a tolerance if these sticks are rated at 300 and can't hold me @ 305 well then, I'd say we got bigger issues then my stomach?
Love everything about these sticks, besides the fact I’m 160lbs and when I step on the steps they wobble and lean to the side my foot is on, idk if that’s how they were intended to be designed but the first time it happened it almost shat my pants.
These sticks are crazy light, quiet, and grip the tree very well. Highly recommend!
The short and sweet is these sticks were designed and built by guys that know the importance of good, reliable, and functional gear. Attention to detail is obvious. The retractable aiders are there when you need them, and out of the way when you don't. Quiet, light, and tough. I ordered these sticks the 1st year they were available, and never looked back or elsewhere. 100% recommend!!!
The money and the wait is worth it. Timber ninja is the best customer service experience that I’ve had. Kept me informed and up to date with my order. Now on to the sticks!!!!
With limited reviews that I could find online. I was skeptic to say the least, but after getting the product in my hands. They are by far the best sticks that I’ve used. I’ve read that people were concerned about the distance between the standoffs and the tree. This is what I can tell you. I am a size 13. There were no issues with the amount of foot room that the sticks provided.
The bite that these sticks have are incredible as well. The trees that I have climbed so far. I Pushed the stick against the the tree and slide down. The stick just bites into tree. Staying there without the rope attached yet. Making it hands free. No more pushing your chest against the stick so you can get the rope around the tree.
On to the weight I order the 3 pack of sticks with rope and retractable aiders for each stick. When weighted they came in at 4.6 lbs. I was using a bathroom scale. So the weight might be a little higher or lower, but it still shed about 7 lbs from the previous sticks I was using. It was a much more noticeable difference when packing them out. I highly recommend if you’re planning on getting a 3 pack to get each with aiders. I was able to climb just as high if not higher using 3 sticks with the retractable aiders compared to using 4 sticks without aiders. Mind you if getting the retractable aiders. It does widen the over all foot print of the sticks. Which could be an issue depending on how you pack them out. Whether that be horizontal or vertical. I would think there wouldn’t be any issues carrying them vertical. I carry the sticks horizontal. So I took the advice in the video that timber ninja has on YouTube. I simply folded the retractable aider over the versa button. It then became a none issue.
My overall thoughts are this. These sticks meet and exceeded my expectations. You will not be disappointed. I’m just an average guy like everyone else. That likes spending time in the trees. These sticks will make it easier for me to go places. I normally wouldn’t because of how light weight and packable they are. The sticks are a great investment.
