Introducing the Ronin: A Single-Panel Saddle Built Without Compromise

Introducing the Ronin: A Single-Panel Saddle Built Without Compromise

The lone warrior doesn't carry dead weight. He carries what works.

That's the standard we held the Ronin to from day one. Jason has been hunting single-panel for years. It's his setup of choice because of the freedom it gives you in the tree. But single panels have always had a reputation. Hip pinch. Lack of structure. The feeling that you're trading comfort for minimalism.

The Ronin is our answer to that tradeoff. You don't have to make it anymore.

Four Years of Real Feedback

The Nano is a proven saddle. Award-winning, field-tested across the country, still one of the lightest options in its class. It's not going anywhere.

But four years of feedback from real hunters told us exactly where to push. Guys hunting in the deep south dealing with heat buildup. Guys covering serious miles with frame packs who couldn't wear their saddle on the way in. Guys putting up with hip pinch because they wanted to stay light. We took all of it and went to work.

What Makes the Ronin Different

NinjaMesh 4-Way Stretch Padded Material

The Ronin's NinjaMesh is the foundation of everything. It's a padded, four-way stretch mesh that keeps all the mobility you need in the tree while adding breathability. Maximum airflow without sacrificing structure or stretch. Whether you're hunting August velvet or late December cold, it doesn't work against you.

We wore this saddle on scouting trips with days up to 8 miles and forgot it was on. That's the standard we built it to.

Hip Pinch. Actually Solved.

The tacky bridge on the Ronin is designed specifically to end the hip-pinching conversation. Every contact point on the inside of this saddle is addressed. The NinjaMesh construction combined with the tacky bridge means you're not white-knuckling through a long sit.

Single panels have had this reputation long enough. The Ronin puts it to rest.

G-Hooks with Integrated Retaining Clips

New G-hooks with integrated retaining clips mean the leg loops won't work loose on the climb and can't fall out. It's a small upgrade with a real-world payoff. If you've ever had a G-hook pop at a bad time, you know exactly why this matters. It’s fixing more of an annoyance than a serious problem, but nonetheless, it’s important to address.

Laser-Cut MOLLE Waistband

Laser-cut MOLLE around the waistband opens up your carry options and the padding adds structure without adding weight. Cleaner look than traditional webbing MOLLE, and lighter too. It keeps the saddle from collapsing, without compromising the minimalist build.

Integrated Stretch Side Pockets

Built-in stretch pockets on each side sit low and out of the way so your backpack's waist belt rides exactly where it should. Each pocket fits a tether or lineman's rope with a Kong and carabiner. And when they're empty, they're barely there, the saddle still rolls up tight and stuffs down to almost nothing in your pack.

The Rest Is Pure Timber Ninja

Magnetic stick haulers on the sides. Magnetic platform hauler. Magnetic waist belt that won't come loose. Tacky bridge. Bridge rope with Sterling TRC Prusik for adjustment. None of that needed to change.

Built Without Compromise on Safety

Every Timber Ninja product is third-party tested. The Ronin carries ASTM F3544-21 and ASTM F2337-22 certifications, not because we had to, but because we come from safety and fall protection backgrounds, and we understand what failure looks like at height. That standard doesn't change based on cost or time. It's non-negotiable.

Who It's For

If you hunt single-panel because you want to move fast, stay light, and not know the saddle is on you, this is your next saddle. If you've avoided single panels because of hip pinch or lack of structure, the Ronin was built to change your mind.

It isn't trying to be everything. It's trying to be exactly what you need. Nothing more, nothing less.
