Love my Kunai platform. Got mine last week. This weekend was my 1st sit in it. Super lightweight, a ton of room and solid as a rock. Thanks for making such a great product!
I have been running the C1 sticks among others for several years now and these step up the light weight stick game by a huge margin. First off, the new packaging looks great and at first sight they just look sweet. Initially, I was a little disappointed to see the cable aiders from the C1 sticks discontinued but the new TN aiders are lighter and easy to use with these sticks. The magnets are a nice touch which eliminates the need for an additional strap to keep them together when hauling them around the woods on your pack. I added some Tesa tape to the top magnets to quiet them up when snapping them together. The step stand off distance is noticeably better and they are more solid under foot than the C1 sticks with no squeak to them at all. The amsteel attachments that come with them are easy enough to use and stay tight to the tree via the new side ear design with a simple girth hitch. In the future I would love to see some integration of these sticks to the Kunai platform for improved transportability. Maybe a way to snap them into one another so the whole kit could be cinched to your pack. Great work on this new version TN...
I received my Kunai Platform last week and from the new sleek TN packaging to the unmatched product quality, this is a solid piece of equipment. I have always been pleased with TN products and sincerely appreciate the innovative ways their products address issues in the woods. I have the Nano and Duel Harnesses, C1 and now C2 sticks as well. But this platform is a real game changer for my mobile kit. I just took it out into the woods this weekend for the first run. It is simple to set up with the included amsteel duel prusik cordage, bites the tree like a pitbull and allows ample room to adjust your position in the tree, especially to achieve those weak side shots. WORTH EVERY PENNY. Keep up the great work TN! I would like to maybe see a strap on seat for this in the future... Thx!
This saddle has everything I was looking for in a single paddle. Everything about this saddle was thought out for real world hunters. The tacky bridge allows me to make micro adjustments and not worry about my bridge slipping. It’s extremely lightweight and breathable which is great for early bow season when the temps are in 90s. The best part of the whole saddle for me is the platform and stick carriers that’s integrated onto the saddle.
I came from a big name brand saddle to Timber Ninja. So glad I did. No longer need a back band to get in my way. It’s so light I can’t even notice it’s on when hiking in/out. The bridge system is outrageously adjustable. Zero hip pinch. The platform holder on the back is a real game changer. Everything about this saddle is so well thought out and perfectly executed. I’m 6’1” 240 with a 34” waist and I ordered the XL because I don’t skip leg day and it fits perfect. All day sit approved. This saddle is legit.
Just received my Kunai and wow this thing is light, stable and solid on the tree.
I didn’t notice any flex on this platform and it’s extremely flatline. The amsteel rope attachment is really nice with no metal parts to make noise.
This is one of the most advanced hybrid platforms out there…This is the first purchase from Timber Ninja I have made on any of their gear and I would definitely recommend the KUNAI!
The saddle is very comfortable. I had a Cuzr XC before and it was very comfortable too, but the TN is a notch better. I didn’t like the side pouches that I bought with it though. The zipper gets stuck when fully open and I couldn’t zip it back up with one hand.
The saddle gives you all around comfort hip pitch is not a thing . And it has a lot of thought put into it. Can’t wait to to get my hands on the platform or the c2 .. awesome company don’t forget all made in the USA 🇺🇸 baby
Customer service is not there. Been trying to return this product for 3 weeks to no avail.
As advertised, the 2 panel saddle is the way to go. It was definitely an upgrade from last year's saddle. The quality appears to be what I expected. Haven't hunted with it yet but will try and update this review after a season. Stoked to put some hours in it.
Super comfy.... works as advertised definitely need slim sticks that fit tight together for the mudfalp to work comfortably.
This was first time I have purchased a saddle from Timber Ninja. As soon as I put my hands on it I was immediately impressed with their attention to details. I don’t believe you can make a “fiddle free” set up but this one is close. I like the ability to cinch the 2 panels together when walking through the woods so that it feels more like a belt than a diaper. Very comfortable sitting which allows me to move less in the tree once I’m set up. Good Job!
It seems to be good quality and well built. I do have a problem trying to zip it closed. I guess it’s do to the angle and the zipper.
Comfortable lightweight saddle for those that wish to pack lightweight yet not sacrifice comfort
It seems a bit pricey but it’s quality so you get what you pay for. Nothing to do with this model specifically but I think the 3 step aiders are not that great to use and should only be used occasionally if you need to get really high for some reason. I left that out of my rating because I assume if you are buying this you want a 3 step aider.
This pouch is very nice size and well built. The water resistant zipper is a nice touch but I found it very difficult to use one handedly.
Have not hunted out of it yet……. Gave it a test drive with a couple sticks and platform tonight. I have not totally figured out the adjustments of the lower portion. It seems that there is going to be a feature that is more of a micro adjustment than one that is a large adjustment. The saddle bags are well designed and in the right location. Will need to plan out where everything will go. My other saddle I only had two pouches. While I could stuff a lot in them it was a pain because I was constantly fighting to keep them open and fighting with the draw string closures. I really like the stick clip systems wish there was a fourth so I could hang three sticks and my platform off me for getting up and down the tree. Wish that the bridge color was different from the ropes.
